THE YANKEE
Boston, Friday, October 13, 1815Philadelphia, October 2
For several nights past, the hemisphere has been visited by strange phenomena, having something the resemblance of a comet. Its direction is nearly due east, and is mostly visible after 10 o'clock. It has been observed to ascend the horizons about 7 o'clock, and when first noticed, Is described as being remarkably brilliant. Its lustre is now considerably decreased.

Phenomena of the Tempest
The brooks which run through this place continue to be brackish. Some wells in the country, which afforded excellent water, have become brackish. It is stated by persons of veracity, that several wells in this place, which had plenty of water previously, were nearly dry while the tempest raged.
Such was the violence of the storm that the large fishing rocks at Point Judith were removed from the beds in which nature perhaps planted them.
